To my valentine, with love.

I did not buy you flowers of dark ruby red,

I did not lay soft petals upon your cozy bed.

I didn’t buy you chocolate, creamy and sweet;

The perfect Valentine, more difficult a feat.

I cannot give you gold, that in the sun to shine;

I will pull you close, whispering, “You’re mine.”

Lightly touching skin to skin, giving soft caress,

Give myself to you, and hear a breathy, “Yes…”

What I give on Lover’s Day, indeed more dear;

My heart and soul to you with love most sincere.
