Venezuela’s tepius located on Mount Roraima is home of rare mice that were first discovered in 1929. Because of their seclusive nature, they were not seen for 60 years after then. Where they live can only be reached by helicopter.
Islands as if they were on clouds predominate

There they are, islands with a new specie of mice
They are located on Mount Roraima
That’s about 5-thousand feet high
- – -
On these heights
Live this specie of mice
That’s extremely rare
That was first discovered in 1929
- – -
After this initial discovery
These mice were not seen
For more than 60 years
That’s all because
Of their elusive nature
- – -
Where they live
Is quite inaccessible
For there is a rather steep ascent
So most of Venezuela’s tepius
Where these mice dwell
Can only be reached by helicopter
- – -
Thus these mammals live
In virtual isolation
To the known world
And not much is known
About them
