It will take two more years to finish but I celebrated that day anyway!

Near old cliffs
the thunderous waves.

Unceasing,
They woke me up.

To learn me
in a monstrous cave.

I squinted
at shadows
lurking around
bizarre windows,

To remind me of hill,
When a spectrum
a murky dream vivid still.

Houses caving in
and fires raging
and more blood
and swarms of
locusts and wasps
and the great flood.

I clasped
my violet pillow.

Rubbed my cheeks
On faint velvet.

Minding Belqis
she was far,
I drank a remnant
In the crystal jar.

I smelled festive incense,
Restored abeyant senses,
And feared to venture deep.

So I yawned
like a fainéant cat.

just like that,

I murmured nonsense
lapsing back to sleep.
