A poem written for a word challenge.

I’m alone at home late at night,

there’s a vicious storm raging outside.

A fierce wind has begun to howl,

hail is pounding on the rooftop.

Torrential rain is coming down,

thunder is crashing loudly overhead.

I see lightning outside my window,

then suddenly the glass is shattered.

Lightning has fried my TV set,

my air conditioner and computer.

There is smoke everywhere,

an awful stench fills my home.

Nothing seems to be working now,

for the neighborhood is powerless.

The electric circuits are all off,

there is a major blackout everywhere.

Great job! We don’t usually get really bad storms like that in NJ. I hope that they don’t get worse where you are.
