Viewing things back then was always deeper than it is now.

View of a Puddle

I wish I could take the view I had so many months ago
When I saw beauty in the simplicity of puddles
This life was so wonderful
Filled with little things I could stare at
My mind flowed back and forth like a stream
The wonder of things so clear
Reflected in the water so shallow
This world’s so shallow
Now that world I knew seems like a stupid dream
Drowning in a shallow puddle of self-pity
I can’t seem to lift my eyes off the picture
Of those many months ago
