This is a poem about my friend, he is planning to “walk” with his girlfriend, both of who are having a really tough time at the moment. He knows how I feel about it, but can’t comprehend why I am scared for him. I love him to pieces. This poem is called views because, I think it shows just how much seeing things from another persons point of view can change the way you think.
Yeah, you’re right: I have chosen my share of bad choices, Micheal,
But, who says that gives you the right to take yours?
I trust you with my life, just not with yours.
You will care for her, treat her well: I know all this,
But, my dear, who will be there in those dark nights to look after you?
You seem to think you’re superman:
What happens when the superhero in you gets tired?
When it all gets too hard; too much,
When you just want a friendly face, someone to tell you it’s all ok?
After all: old habits die hard. We learned that.
You say you need me, yet you plan to up and leave me.
Ever thought that I might need you to? A protector.
Please, just stay a while, sit here with me,
See it through someone elses eyes…
