A poem inspired by the attempted selling of US ports in 2006.

What price to ask for glories shores?
A penny cast into the sea;
We sell, we trade, unloose the moors.

To Emirates upon our doors,
A quarter tossed for you and me.
What price to ask for glories shores?

Our ports are sold like common stores,
A dollar drove commodity;
We sell, we trade, unloose the moors.

Are they to pimp like sully whores?
A dime pitched at security.
What price to ask for glories shores?

Cries upon congressional floors,
A note of incongruity;
We sell, we trade, unloose the moors.

To hand us over just abhors,
The free for foreign currency,
What is the cost to glories shores?
You sell; you trade, then loose the moors.

    Great poem and an education to me! I am so blissfully ignorant of many things I guess!
