I found myself in a dreary dream
Where blind Justice, it seemed
Knocked upon my door
And I was shocked to my very core
That she being blind asked the poets for a rhyme-To show her the way
For her visit to the black men of today
But when she touched his black hand, she called him a white man
And then she changed her commands
And had me take her to a gay man
But when she had touched his hand, she bruised his ego
By naming him a negro
Then she asked, “Will there be a righteousness in the land or a fairness in the land-which?”
“In this age of purposeful plans”
“By which path will they go?”
“Will they too accept laws which restrict-like Jim Crow?”
Then she said, “Already this I know”
“The answer Justice must confess, history has already recorded as yes”
“Because these ancient beliefs, just like the beliefs of those before them”
“Can only regress into the abyss of iniquities”
Then she asked the black man (now a white man)
“Will you expect these gays (now Negros) to be courteous and polite”
“While within his ear range the things you say defame his dignity and rights”
“Upon the claim that his very being is a vice, in not a racist, but now a gaycist way?”
“But already this I say, the answer is yes and history repeats itself with hands that do not rest”
“But you say you are keen of sight in knowing what is right “
“But Justice being blind must ask the width and then the height”
“Thus question I, will humanity still need, as yet”
“The spilt blood of a Malcolm Gay X; sacrificed”
“Or a Martin Luther Queen for it to lean toward truth and Justice?”
“For Justice comes to question not in jest”
“Which spirits on earth can pass an ageless test”
“Which spirits on earth are unequaled or equals only to the rest”
“But for the unforgiving eyes of history upon its quest”
“I have yet to make my final guess”
“But where ever the spirit of humanity may go”
“I have sent the poets that you may know”
