Seeing your name this morning brought a smile to my face.

Seeing your name this morning brought a smile to my face,

I knew you was alright and made it to that far away place.

I must say this is not where I wanted you to be

right in the middle of this war far away from me.

Unknown all around you in this foreign land

surrounded by strangers and all of that sand.

Jet lag is still around and giving you a hard time

in a few days you will adjust and settle in youll find.

My worries for you they have just begun

with news cast of boys dyeing without pulling their gun.

Stay away from all cars and beware of all things

Come home to us safely sweetie without your wings.

Your family will stay close and take care of each other,

and Ill try to be strong because I am the mother

My prayers are now with you in that faraway place,

I know he will protect you with all of his grace.

Remember we love you and stand wait for your return

With each moment without you we all will still yearn.

    Hi,

Finally a poem written about a subject of my personal taste, yes we all wait and it does feel like paradise when he return, but reality also has an ugly way of presenting itself.

You might want to read my story poem “Brothers Lost” to find it out if you have some time to spare.

    my deepest respect and gratitude,lindalulu

Hi Linda!!Don’t you worry,he’s well trained, and you can count on me to keep him in my prayers too.BTW,that was a simply beautiful expression of a mothers unyeilding love.I must admit, the car bombs are a scary scenario. We have a friend just a few years older than yours, known him for years,he’s over there for the second tour.I don’t think he’s at one of those border checkpoints but he was last time.
