A poem based on the government and the council only recently.
In Wales there are many castles on top of the hills
Now the war is over, Wales have a new battle on their hands
Castles were built to keep the emery at bay, now it’s a battle of wills
Keeping their heritage across their lands.
The government is on the attack
Leaving behind a nasty taste
While the welsh people try to attract
People to come to visit this beautiful place.
It’s a new war
Keeping our fields with sheep and cattle
They are trying to close the door
With us fighting a losing battle.
It is greener this side, we say it with pride
Looking at fields through fences of wire
A place where you can visit the countryside
It’s a good place to retire.
We are happy in our comfort zone
They won’t rest until all the jobs are gone
Why can’t the government leave us alone
Getting rid of jobs in Wales one by one.
No phone box working to call home
We can’t walk late around the park
If stranded we can’t use our mobile phone
With no phones working and no lights working, we are left in the dark.
Watch out, for the bad weather kills
No tourist information to help you on your way
So if you get lost up in those black hills
With no mobile reception, you are on your own, you might say.
No public toilets open to spend a penny
If you do live in the sticks, you need a car
There used to be many
No public transport either if you do live far.
Jobs are disappearing fast,
We can’t see at night
They want to see how long we will last
Living in the dark ages with no streetlight.
