I have walked with addiction for years, I don’t want to hide in the contaminated walls anymore.

It has taken over me
For far too long already
Consuming my heart and soul
It is a life stealer
It begins to take its toll
You make a deal with the devil
A friendship with darkness
Except friends is not the reality
More like the greatest enemies
They stab you in the back
and steal your will to live
You hide in contaminated walls
You are trapped
The only way out is to resign that friendship
but its hold on you is too tight
You fear that today is your last tomorrow
Only an intervention can help you now
Once you take a walk with the addiction

You expres yourself so clearly in this that it may deter others from ever taking that same walk. Great effect with that! A terrific write. Michael

It sounds like such a dark place to be. A very powerful and emotional piece. I hope you can work things through successfully.

It’s so nice being so expressive of yourself through this poem.

Haven’t been on Triond for quite a while but this poem is so powerful, I can only conclude I should stay.

    best foot’s forward;
    best lines downed:
    none/nothing,
    no one but you,
    has the call.

Sad, depressing, dark, morbid… It was very, very good!!! I enjoyed reading it very much.
