What people say and what people do are two different things.

There are people, who will say, speak up for yourself

and we will stand behind you all the way, the next

thing you know, you are out on a limb all by yourself

Watch them dogs

People will tell you, it doesn’t matter what you look

like on the outside, it’s what’s inside that counts,

the next day you hear through the grapevine, did

you see how bad she looked, what happened to her

Watch them dogs

When you are down on your luck, people are quick

to say we are here for you, just let us know if you

need anything and so when the time comes, you

decide to take them up on their offer when behind

your back you hear them whispering well what

does she expect us to do?

Watch them dogs

You were told by your supervisor, if you work hard,

do a good job; go above and beyond the call of duty,

he will see to you getting a promotion, when the

time comes, he knows nothing about it

Watch them dogs

Your coworkers came to talk to you about another

coworker who is not pulling their weight at work

and are planing to confront this person and would

like to know if you are with them, when the time

comes, they push you out front

Watch them dogs

Your friends told you, if you need me, call me, you

can count on me, I’ll always be there for you, when

you need them, their nowhere to be found

Watch them dogs

Yes, you better watch them dogs. Some people are so two-faced. Great piece, Shirley!

Yes, you learn who is a real friend the hard way.

This is so so true. And some people have nothing better to do than to sit and jaw about other people and be catty–so watch the cats too.

    And snakes. Sssssssss….
