New Zealand is a great wine producing country. Perhaps that’s why I’ve been putting on weight!

5pm – wine time.

I reach for my glass

and flop into the chair

for a quick TV watching break.

Relaxed, sipping chardonnay

or sauvignon blanc,

thinking about the meal

I’m about to prepare.

Only movement

is lifting that calorie laden

glass of wine to my lips.

Changes ahead.

Too many calories means

putting on weight.

Time to fill that glass

with another liquid,

same colour, different taste,

no calories.

Time to pour a

glass of water.

    Water is OK in small quantities Val but it is a bit too wet formy liking. I’ll have some wine please..it soothes the soul after a hard day …lol :-)

    Water is very good for you. A little wine won’t hurt you either but water is better. Nice poem. Very much enjoyed the read.

    I haven’t drank in years but, I still like sitting down with a wine glass filled with tomato juice, ice tea or even yes, water.

    Put on weight with aplomb and make up for it later by throwing it around.A nice way to relax.

    I prefer the wine too, though I do force myself to drink my daily two litres. I just wish it was wine flavoured, lol. I loved the poem, Val.

    Nicely written. Though, a glass of wine does not seems that much (regarding calories), certainly not so much of a problem as if you ate tons of bacon every day. – just my thoughts … Anyway, I prefer beer :)
