The interpretation I get from it is that the narrator had been face with a lot of obstacles and adversity, and the rain represents a new begining, where it says, "To the waves I plead. Wash me clean." Also, from this poem, I get the impression that the narrator wants to start his or her life over, to make a fresh start. I loved the beautiful images throughout this poem.
