To pretend we never met;
Just when my tears dried,

To explain to me why you lied.

It’s hard to banish the tangled memory,
Now that my heart doesn’t know where to stay,
For I have less tomorrow and much of yesterday;
But from your memory it’s futile to run away,
So I guess remembering you will be my way.

For the rest of my life I’ll live on to forget,
That when we were young we put our love to a test;
The years would reveal we were not the best;
That in love we can’t have forever at our behest,
And sweet turning to bile puts all feelings to rest. ###
