This is a poem about a boy who broke my faith in friendship. We were real friends for all of our lives and then one girl came along and we don’t speak anymore.

Lines have been crossed and we don’t know how to apologize.

You’ve become a phantom limb but I’m complete on the outside.

I hear talk about how you’re happy and I cant help but think back

to when you said she wasn’t the one for you.

You said babies are cute but its not reason enough.

I can see the kind of man you are

And I’m happy you can stand on your own feet,

But I see you smile,

When you’re standing across the room,

Keeping your distance.

I can see you smile and she’s not the one for you.

Now months have gone by and the baby is beautiful.

Now you’ve tied the knot in Vegas and we don’t speak.

Now you’ve promised her your life,

But there were so many things you promised me.

You promised me you’d be somebody.

You promised me you’d get out of here.

I see you and the roots you’ve set,

You’re never gonna leave this place.

It makes me sad to see you tamed.

To see you so controlled,

And by some one you barely know,

By some one you don’t care for.
