This is a poem addressing the issues todays man goes through in the wake of heightened feminism campaigns. It tends to cry out to the society to stop and think on how this negative gender perceptions are harming the society.
We shall lose him to the stars; we shall lose him to the skies,
He so yearns to belong, all he wants is to fly
Lose him to the strange customs and beliefs
Lose him to ideologies and femininity,
Lose him to modernity.
He was forced to recognize them, equality for all
He was obligated to call them equals
Pushed, shoved and fought in all corners
He was forced till he cracked, he allowed education to all
He widened the way, allowed them to lead
He gave them equal rights
He has sold his birthright
He no longer questions, he can’t make his own
He even sits and waits, comfortably all day
Waiting till she earns.
We shall lose him to the stars
We shall lose him to frailty,
Lose him to flimsy feminine excuses,
Lose him to indecision, too dainty to work
His voice is no longer heard, he cannot raise a hand to whip
Poor young one is watching, he learns he has no voice
It’s the era of the weaker sex, killing the ones they’ll need
We shall lose him; he will soon be just a name
The xx is carrying the day, poor xy
It’s too bad we are killing us!!
