A spider’s web is meant to entrap its prey. Crooks also spin webs to snarl others to bring about their downfall.
We think about a web
Mainly as a spider’s web
That’s intricately spun
To entrap its prey
That’s true
- – -
People spin
Webs to snarl
Their unsuspecting enemies
When they weave complicated
Stories of lies to deceive
This is true
Of many crooks
- – -
Deception could be
Unwarranted praise
That leads someone to believe
That he’s the king of the universe
It can make a woman
Feel that she’s a queen
Beautiful and without blemish
In the prime of her life
It focuses on boosting the ego
Or, get rich schemes
- – -
With such thoughts germinating
In the mind of the deceived
The deceiver moves in for the kill
With all his interconnected patterns
In place taking root
- – -
The deception may be
Not only a monetary scheme
Sexual exploitation
Or, some other devious deed
That blackens a person’s character
It might even be a web of doom
That’s meant to see an individual’s downfall
