Is it a dream, or just a streaming series of disconnected visions?

The lack of punctuation is purposeful.

Welcome Home
(breathless)

The questions that are
filling up the dark will
ever touch your shoulder
as you climb the steps
that lead into the world
of other lives that has
so long been out of reach
too far within enclosing
walls of jellied mist with
doors that seem to always
be on coffee-break and it
may be that now is time to
leave a note to let me know
if I have really gone when
I return to look at what
a tiny place it is that
I’ve called home in dreaming
times of running slow in
faster traffic at the corner
on the avenues around
the town of retrospective
nightmare, sweetly singing
Auld Lang Syne to lightly
syncopated rhythms and the
blinding lights exploding
in your mind as awful
revelation penetrates the
hopeful wish that this was
really only in my head
instead of getting into yours.

To dream is sweet, but waking to find it is not reality can sometimes be a nightmare. It was deep and honest!
