My sister and I went to church today Lord
I’m sure You saw us there
I’m so ashamed I haven’t been in so long
Though no one seemed to care.

What a wonderful, wonderful time it was
We sang and gave praise as loud as we could
Everyone was wonderful, prayers were said for me
And I must admit it feels really good.

I so love to be among Your people
I love it when people pray aloud
Their only care is that You hear them
Because they love You and they are proud.

It’s amazing all the different types of folks who attend
Knowing when they’re there, we’re all the same
No one sees color or how we may look
As we are all there, to give praise to Your name.

Liz, Suzanne, Olga and Angel
Are some new folks I met today
Then Mario, Yvette, Edgar and their boys
Are the folks who asked us to join where they pray.

Reverand Scrimale, their Pastor
Is so exciting as he spreads Your word
We sang alot of songs at the tops of our lungs
Though any mistakes were never heard.

I’m hoping we’ll go back again next week
For I so love the way it made me feel
Tears were often streaming down my face
With renewed assurance that You are real.

So thank You Lord for blessing us today
And for time spent with friends old and new
But please Lord if we don’t make it back next week
Know it would never mean, that I’m not loving You.
