Why is white the only thing that matters?

I am the privileged class who goes un-noticed by the majority.
I am abled, gendered and sexualised
and have enjoyed a history of prosperity

I am the person that doesn’t like to rock the boat,
whose position in society is already comfortable enough
I’m quite happy to just float.

What am I?

I am the impoverished,
the disenfranchised,
the alienated.
I live off and support the welfare state,
which consequently leads me to hate
anyone different.

I am the binary opposition
that does not require the most evident description,
but that’s part of my condition.

What am I?

I am a boy,
girl,
tall,
short
brown haired,
blue eyes,
young,
old
gay,
straight….
professional.

I work with a bunch of black guys.

What am I?

Great poem. Very true – why do white people only get descibed by their gender, hair colour, disability all before their skin colour.

    Great poem
