A poem for all of those who have been left to wonder…
Wonder why sometimes we lose those who mean the most
to us…why they must leave us behind to mourn and face
the shadows of a life we’re not sure how we’ll live without them…
To mourn
To weep
To scream
To cry
You’ve left me behind
To wonder why.
Why you went
And left me alone
With this ache in my heart
And this pain in my soul.
I can’t see the light
Through the veil of my tears
As I sit here and wonder
How I’ll last all my years,
Without you here to hold my hand
To love me
To guide me
To be my best friend.
You’re the only real person
Who saw past the mask
To the person within…
But now that’s all past.
So now who will fight
And stand by my side?
Love me and hold me
And fill me with pride?
What do I do
Now that you’re gone?
My hero
My friend
To that place far beyond…
