What have you done to me? Played upon my emotions.

Cover of What Have You Done Pt 2

What have you done to me?

Played upon my emotions,

stacked the cards against me in this contingency of love.

I wear my heart on my sleeve,

my patience is worn thin,

I do not care for the details of how you’re trading me in.

***

Once we drank of bliss,

hand in hand and carefree.

But your love disappeared,

an angry mass of resentment and memories.

Love torn apart,

I feel nothing but scorn,

drink the acrid stream of loathing.

Nothing more hurtful than having to accept the hurt as a part of life. Liked your poem.

That’s very strong and beautiful! :) Love the beautiful way it tells readers about bitterness and sadness.

I can empathize with you. At some point, it’s happened to the best of us. The worst part is when the other person doesn’t give us the opportunity to vent our feelings. Closure is essential in order to move on. An excellent piece.
