What is knowledge, if not understood?

does it represent intelligence?

or is it just a matter of opinion?

we all posses knowledge of something

yet it often gets focused on things

that seem to by pass the average

is a high test score

a sign of knowledge?

is a wall full of academic degrees and awards

the mark of knowledge?

speaking a second language, or playing

a musical instrument by ear

 are talents that do not measure up

to the social definition of knowledge

the road of academic education is but

one road to knowledge

so why does society turn a deaf ear

to other roads of knowledge?

God given gifts

or being self taught is knowledge

that does’nt  come with a degree

that does not come with a degree

the poorest of the poor

are often seen as lacking knowledge

when in reality

they often know more than

those who judge them.
