I want to write a poem somehow that really tells you how I’m feeling.
What Kind of Words Should I Write to Get Through To Your Heart?

What kind of words should I write
To get through to your heart?
Should I make some honey words
And throw them like a dart?
That wouldn’t do, I think, you see
Such words they have no weight.
But other words though lightly spoke
Cause worlds to gravitate.
When my world spins around your world
A constellation we become
Spinning around each other
From setting moon to rising sun.
The other stars give us applause
Though we think somewhat jealously
But they can go to hell because
This poem is only you and me.
No, that’s not the way it goes
That other ending was too silly.
I want to write a poem somehow
That really tells you how I’m feeling.
It needs to speak to you of me
And how my heart It thunders so
About vast and grassy plains
And smelly herds of buffalo.
That’s not what I had in mind
I didn’t think I put it there
I want to say the sun don’t rise
Just tags behind you everywhere.
I want to say the stars will fade
Before my gaze will leave your face.
I want to hold you by the hand
And start another human race.
No, that’s not what I, yes it is
I can’t explain, it goes like this:
What kind of words could I write
To get through to your heart tonight?
