A grown man, who as a child was badly and repeatedly beaten, goes to a shrink to ask him what he thinks about his nightmares.

I
went
to
a
Shrink!

To
ask
him,
about
the
things,
I
think!

Why
was
I,
in
so
much
pain?

Why
do
I
scream?

Every
tormented
night?

Why
do
I,
awake
in
freight?

Why
do
I,
punch
the
wall?

And
call,
“come
on
then”
You
bastard!

You
hurt
me
so,
when
I
was
a
kid!

You
Beat
me
bad
and
broke
my
nose!

You
knocked
me
out
and
you
locked
me
out!

All
because
I
was
an
unwanted
Child!

To
a
seventeen
year
old
Mum!

That
condemned
you
did it not?

So
I
was
Your, punch-bag!

So
I
was
the one
who
was
to
cry!

I
was
the one
punished,
for
being
there!

I
was
the
one,
you
never
did
care
for!

Then
the
Shrink
coughs!

His
head
and
his
watery eyes,
lift
up
from
his,
note book
and
pen
and
he
says
Son!

There
is
nothing
wrong
with
you!

For
you
are
a
remarkable
Man!

Just go Home!

Live one Day
at
a
time!

Enjoy every
hour!
Appreciate
each
flower!
Every
ray
of
sunshine!

Feel
the
wind!
Imagine
good
things!

Be
at
peace,
with
Your own
Children!

And
with
the
World!

Go now!
There is a bright
future,

for

You,
to
unfurl!
