If you could control your dreams and what you saw would you?Or just let them go and dream about whatever shows up in them?I wouldnt control them,my writers creativity would be affected in more ways then one.Dreams give me ideas to expand on and publish.

Dreams have their own purpose this I know,

they come to you when you are fast asleep.

But if you could control what you dreamed,

what would you dream about and then why?

****

Would you dream about being a rich person,

traveling the world in your own private jet?

Have breakfast and coffee in Paris France,

but have bread, pasta and desert in Italy?

****

Or maybe buying your own basketball team,

hiring the best coaches that money can buy.

Beautiful young cheerleaders are added also,

wouldn’t that be any sports mans fantasy?

****

Maybe even be a famous actor or actress,

earning millions of dollars to make a film.

Maybe even kiss the leading lady or man,

living the life of the very rich and famous.

****

Be a well known author like Steven King,

watch as your books is made into movies.

Sit back chilling as the royalties come in,

your name and fame is known far and wide.

****

See your written work be in a published book,

signing autographs for your adoring public.

Plotting out your next novel in the meantime,

Shakespeare and Poe will have to move over.

****

My dream was to marry and have children,

but being a single woman isn’t all that bad.

But its changed since I first wrote this piece,

now all I want is to be the best that I can be,

****

We each have our thing that we want to do,

it will vary from person to person in the world.

I ask you again before I put an end to this,

would you change your dreams if you could?

No I wouldn’t change my dreams as they give you a place to retreat to, a place to hide and a place to be yourself. Great words.

Very nice article. You actually can control your dreams, it is called “lucid dreaming”, it takes a lot of hard work and time to discover how to, but it would be worth it. I haven’t done so myself yet.

That’s an excellent write and a really good thought. Our dreams are there for a purpose though I think, to help us make sense of things we don’t understand or can’t handle during waking ours. They help us make sense of the world and allow us to do our mental filing. If I had to say, I’d say sex firstly, as it’s a passion of mine, but there are so many places I’d love to visit too. They say you never dream of anywhere or anyone you don’t know though, so that may be difficult.

Your writing style is curious. I particularly like this article. I am an avid fan of dream research.

I believe as do many that your dreams are often your subconscious reaching to your conscious mind; helping to navigate waters we may be unaware can be traversed without an oar.
