A shilling made up of twelve pence

To me, made completely no sense

And even less when I found

Twenty shillings to the pound

This financial stuff was intense

Mastering this stuff made me sick

It was not going to be quick

Took years for the knack

To get it down pat

And then we went bloody metric!
