Poem.
When depression speaks
It tells lies
You can’t help but believe
It knows your weaknesses
Knows them well
And that’s its aim —
How hard can it kick you there
That day
Sometimes you can fight it
Sometimes it takes a break
But usually it sits awake
And twiests everything around
Until you sit
Lost, alone, broken
And filled with the feeling
That you’re just simply hated
And no one cares
Even when you know the truth
It doesn’t matter
you act as if you don’t
Speak foolishly
Regret it
Before, during, and after
Yet still can’t seem to stop saying it
It speaks for itself, it seems
Using your mouth and your voice
It give itself life…
When depression speaks
It tells lies that sting
When depression laughed
You cry
When depression sleeps (though never for long)
only THEN can you laugh…
