Complex love clearly explained.
When I wake up my eyes first fall on the ceiling or the wall next to me leaving me feeling dull in a white box that I call my room. With no where to call our own because I haven’t met her to make me a we. Maybe she’s someone I’ve seen or know but when we get together this box will be a gift like those diamonds sitting on gold circles.
When I first look at her I’ll have to put my hand on my heart to keep it from jumping out of my chest, tilt my head back and gasp as if I’m running out of breath. It’s not that it’s really my first time seeing her. It’s a reaction to coming under the realization of seeing someone after falling in love. Comparing what she looks like now with how she looked a few seconds before.
When I hug her my heart beat seems to speed up and slow down as if it’s trying to match yours with synchronized breaths when we kiss communicating in body language with our eyes closed. Finishing each others sentences after every touch. And it’s so warm wrapped in your arms. It feels good to be this close. I used to only lay with a pillow that was cold and lifeless as I tossed and turned but when you rested your head on it I had no room to move. Your love surrounds me.
