Our secret lives both good and bad are laid open before the Lord.

When doing what you think is right

Sometimes nobody sees.

Or maybe someone knows what’s done

But not what the value should be.

We’ve been taught that Jesus sees

Those evil acts we do.

But Jesus and His Father see

Our unseen and good deeds too.

Some people hide themselves as

Others ask or demand they must.

And who can tell the harm or ruin

Such secret living has on trust.

Yet what use is a life lived secretly

If more open life should be?

The cure for that is to remember

Whatever we do Jesus will see!

For Jesus knows not only what’s done

He knows the value to give.

There’s no labor done that’s useless

When He judges how we live.

Live as openly as you can

And when you can’t it’s okay.

Every act will be valued as it should

In judgment on that last day.
