Summer time means different things to each of us. This is my feelings of summer.

When summertime is fresh and new

Children dance and play ’til evening time.

There’s a clearer ring to the old church chime.

Staccato clouds spatter a heaven of blue.

And, summer love seems oh, so true!

The honeysuckle blossoms in its rapid climb.

Frogs and crickets harmonize in a serenade sublime.

And the mockingbird sings the whole night through.

Like a picture album taken down from the shelf

My mind indulges in each summer memory.

While my heart embraces summer’s sweet songs.

Every summer is a piece of my patchwork self.

Trips to the country, mountains, and sea.

Oh, to the newness of summer my heart belongs!
