A poem about the ultimate human condition.
When the devil came out to play,
it was an extremely beautiful day,
I was walking on my own,
completely lost
and all alone.
He offered me some vine,
it was red and it was fine vine,
he did not tell me his name
but he wanted to play a game.
He asked me if I believed
in a god or an entity
I said: “Hell no! why should I
when the world is going to die
because of our stupidity?”
With yellow eyes he sat there looking at me
then he offered me a job
because the world has never seen a god.
I took it and I loved it
for a while, anyway…
but then greed took me over
and I lost my way.
Next time the devil came out to play
it was a dark and rainy day
he was sitting in a chair
drinking tequila from the air.
I asked if I could resign
he said:”If you want my friend
that’s fine…
I just offered you the job
because the world has never seen a god.”
