Snowfall brings cold and the new prez brought warmth.

‘Twas a bitter winter that year,

The snow falls each and every year.
Then it was so very, very cold,
not like earlier years,we were told.
 
There had to be a change.
As the US President,
The new one  had said,
He will emerge from the recession,
simply by his intelligence and concession,

Which he is about to achieve.
 
Our economy will and must improve;
the new President,has this still to fully prove.
 
The first state guest dinner abroad,
In Canada he had promised too.
Glad we had a real fine guest in you.
We crossed our fingers and hoped for the best.

So also he promised to  help us revive,
The Canadian loony must and did survive. 
When he came around,
In Canada on his maiden visit, we found.

We gave him a warm welcome,

Which he loved as he did manage to come

He promised to normalcy restore;
Fear not we will cross the border,as before
No visa, no restrictions we only wish,
and these concessions to us does he really dish?
 
USA and Canada will be normal friends again;

Hopefully for ever we shall always so remain.
 
It’s our only and everlasting hope,

We shall as two countries together

Shall  with the rest of the world cope
