This Poem is based on Proverbs ch 1:8-19.

Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. Proverb 1:8

“When warn, listen”
This is what his Father says
Yet when they warn him about you
He didn’t listen to what they say
Now look where he is today

Drugs, guns, a career criminal is what he is today
Another black educated youth
Has thrown his life away
All because he didn’t listen
To what his Father had to say

Could have been the next President
Of this his blessed land
Instead he’s in the Coffin
Six feet in the ground
All because he didn’t listen
To what his Father had to say

When warn listen
To what God has to say
Don’t be an educated fool like me
and throw your life away.

A cry from beyond the grave

Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it. Proverbs 1:19
