When you came calling me after a gap of a couple of weeks, what I could say to you was just Mm…on the phone line

You were annoyed, wanting to hear me talking and what you could hear was just the sound of Mm…

You were wondering as to what was the meaning of it!

I tell you now my dear!

Mm… means that I welcome you back into my orbit with all the happiness in the world!

It means that I don’t need to ask who is on the line and what is this regarding!

It means that I was so overwhelmed with joy, on hearing your voice that I could only say Mm…

It was enough for me that you came calling me back and in those moments of utter happiness, words had failed me completely!

It means that your voice had brought a smile on my face because you had brought with you so many wonderful memories of our sharing of the life and of living!

Mm… means that I can be my natural self with you and I don’t need to raise my defenses against you as I do against the strangers!

It means that I can talk whatever I want with you and I don’t need to be alert and watching my words as I do with the others!

It means that you are my priority and I had set aside what I was doing and had started listening to your voice…

Mm… means that I had closed my eyes and was focused on your voice enjoying the nuances, the ebbs and lows of your voice so that I can react according to the demands of your sayings…

It means that there is a comfort zone around us and I feel safe and secure around your voice

Mm… means I would like you to continue talking so that I can continue to listen to your voice

It means that I love even the gaps of silence, when we stop talking in between…

It means that I love you so much that your being at the other end is more than enough for me than my wanting to talk to you in anyway!

My saying Mm…was to represent my yearning to hear your voice and my willingness to register your words into my mind, so that I shall take them back and enjoy them whey you shall be absent once again from my life!

Mm…was just to show you that you are my lifeline and I need you to be with me all the time…

Mm…also means so many other things said and unsaid!
