An ode to my mother. Done in 2005.

As I look out my window,
I see the sunshine die;
Hear the groaning of nature,
feel the heavens cry.

Not a shadow on the roads
Nor a voice to say,
Those silent raindrops on your face,
I’m make them go away.

Across the oceans, over the skies,
Beyond where eyes can see.Someone opened her hands of hope
And shone her light on me.

In this world of darkness,
Many are sure to fall.
Lest they find the force behind,
Helping them stand up tall.

You are the force urging me on,
The very warmth of my heart.
Out of the shadows the ray of light
leading me to my mark.

Thus I write this from my soul
To those who wish to view,
For no one else would be remembered
as much as I do you.

Bittersweet but very touching and beautiful!

this is a very heart warming, and written with deep emotion for the love of one so dear to all our hearts, our mothers. No matter what poems one may read about this one poem,it never fails to stir ones feelings about their mother’s,and you have done the same here…..Just one little word of encouragement. A visual aid like a photo,or picture would really add to your poem. For personal reason’s it need not necessarily have to be a picture of your mum.please keep up the good work…..success and fortune awaits you around the corner…..choice…..

Whenever you’re sad you sit down and write a beautiful and vivid poem. Well done! Also, if you think that a rainy day day can be dull and dreary, read my piece on Authspot.com under the category of thoughts and entitled What If…

    Thanks for sharing!
