This is a poem I had made back when I was in middle school. Use it all you would like.
Where I’m From
By: Blake Barrett
I’m from humongous green palm trees,
Fat coconuts,
And a clear blue sea that never ends,
I’m from katydids making noise,
Spanish class of unknown words,
And over-seen movies
I’m from sweet BBQ chicken,
Cheesy macaroni,
And home-caught fish that tastes alive
I’m from the salty ocean blue,
Rotten bait that pelicans eat,
And dark black smoke from the gas grill,
I’m from my red NEXT bike,
Fishing with an Ugly-Stick®,
And the taste of winter on hot summer days,
I’m from the world of vacations,
Screaming electronics,
And sleeping in my own bed,
I’m from the boring home-life,
The school-life of work,
And the always stressed life of a student.
