A poem written from the child’s view. Based on true happenings, an infant “5 months” was found dead. Still strapped in his car seat, in his own filth. From the article, he had been left, ignored for eight days. While his parents eat and played video games around him. He died of dehydration ,and starvation.

I see you , can’t you hear me ?
My eyes saying ” I love you”…
You want me to scream out,
shed tears…
Just to let you know I’m here ?
Strapped me in for my “safety”,
you must love me so much…
I’m hungry mommy ,
I need your loving touch.
Can’t you hear me ?
I’ve giggled and coo’ed.
I’ll be a happy baby…
This I promise you.
I’m a big boy daddy,
now I’m at two pounds.
My smile widens,
with those video sounds…
Mommy, Daddy,
My dreams won’t ever come true.
I’ll never grow up,
to be like you…

Powerful poem. You captured this unbelievable neglegence and abuse with your words. We hear of this so much these days that we are sickened by how our morals in this country are decaying daily. Sad story.

More people need to speak out and give a voice to these poor children.

Touching. One thing some of us can do is to pray for particular situations.
