On a journey

I revisited

A vast open plain…

My feetKissing dry earth—

Cracks on every corner;

A barren space…

Sanctuary of ghosts

Home to nothingness

Abandoned by the living

Beauty all gone,

A paradise long dead—

So alike

To a familiar place

I call myself…

Tears are all

That waters

The unquenchable thirst

Of its soil

And only weeds

Ferociously thrive

On its ground…

I am summoned

By its helpless core

To give air—

One breath…

Life—

I am its only hope…

I dug perished land

Buried seeds in its hole;

I watched

Waited

Anticipated

Their moment of bloom—

Flowers

Of varying colors

Heavenly fragrance

Dancing gracefully

Smiling at me

Comforting my soul—

My empty heart

Now filled with joy.
