A poem about a strange whirlwind that seems to be alive.

Whirlwind –Susan Varo 8-22-2001

Is this a spirit that I see

in this whirlwind coming up to me

is it this glorious afternoon

you won’t let get away so soon

Are you always this indiscreet

Spinning, whirling next to my feet

in an instant you just freeze

awaiting another gentle breeze

You grab some leaves and make them dance

it’s like they’re almost in a trance

spirit or whatever you are

in your travels do you roam far

Whirlwind, whirlwind what else do you do

are you forever trapped in a whirlwind

are there others just like you

Was it a spirit what did I see

When that whirlwind came up to me

It came so quickly this afternoon

There at my feet and left so soon

Very peculiar! I enjoyed it, you did a good job writing something a little different. Thanks for the share!

    Hi emmahaynes,

I am an artist and I love poetry also. It is very nice to know that you like my work. Whirlwind is from an actual experience. My poems all usually written about real life or desires.
