This poem is about a couple’s relationship that is coming to an end.
The times we share
The loving care
Be forever without you there
While I stare into your eyes
You look at me in surprise
You start to open your mouth
But I whisper don’t tell me any lies
Your mouth shuts and you close your eyes
We’ll dance this dance
For this may be our last chance
To take a glance
At romance
We’ll sing this song
And we’ll forever belong
Together
Now look me in the eyes
And tell me whatever happens will be for the better
And don’t tell me any lies
For this is no surprise
The song ends
The light dims
You look at me with shaky limbs
This is it
This is the end
But you whisper to me, “we can still be friends”
