Who is that lonely star for?

That lonely star on the horizon,
who is it for?
Is it for the poor and the weak?
For the winter so cold and so bleak?
Is it for the man to earn a crust each week?

Is it for the one,
Who can turn his back upon,
The world alone.

Oh, that lonely star in the sky,
shining up so high,
who is it for?
for me or for you?
Didn’t you know,
that shining star, is for everyone you know.
You won’t have to worry anymore,
The light don’t shine here no more.
But it doesn’t shine anywhere,

Maybe where no-one is to care,
and it don’t shine for me,
who does it shine for?
Maybe for the whole world.

That light that shines,
from the heavenly skies,
don’t shine at all,
maybe just a glimmer,
if not, nothing at all,
where is the light?
the light that shines on the world.
