A short poem about neighbor’s dogs.
Sitting at my computer. The cool breeze sneaking through the back security door.
To my left, I turn my head.
A glorious mountain few through my window.
It’s very quiet. Then suddenly…
A rooster breaks the silence with his mighty cockadoodledoo!
Barely a vehicle will drive by here.
Again, it’s quiet.
Woof, Woof, Woof. Arf, Arf, Arf. Breaks the silence this time.
Arugh…Arugh…
I think-”What’s THAT?! “
I sit in the quiet again. Now my curiosity peeks.
Like a child I feel antsy. I yearn to hear it again. All of it!
Then, something even more different.
A high pitched, Yeow, Yeow, Yeow, Yeow…a few more follow.
Quick, now-Yap, Yap, Yap, Yap, Yap.
I analyze this all. There are at least 4 different sized dogs
Within a 250 foot circumference of my home.
They seem to be greeting each other through the fences, and over the walls.
If they only knew what I was doing right now.
