Closed minds, closed heart.

I know about the world and all its cause
The colours that dance and twine
Some live for the truth while others deceive
I too could debate before it’s too late
The reasons for falling this far through
Yes, I could debate its truths and move closer
Scared to death fantasies become too real
Witness fallacies written in the air
Winding us to truths unrealized
What then – life is but a collective dream?

Perhaps we should all wake up – shock our sense
Be careful of what we are influenced
Minds are not playing fields yet to be opened
We play the game… living life in them
Why then do we stray from their path?
Of one thing I am certain
We spend our lives learning this craft
Bleating in awe at certain truths
That should already be
Yours…
And mine.

Beautifully written, Tony, as always. Nice rhythm and flow.

It is difficult to escape the path—even with your poem bringing our attention to it.

Reminders of the heart and mind well penned.

This is an interesting piece, quite deep and well written. I wrote a piece many years ago, entitled “Fantasy?” of similar content. I will have to pull it out of the closet one of these days(If I can find it). Very nice work!

Ah, the universal spiritual connectedness of mankind of which too many are unaware – a favorite subject of mine. It’s interesting when a person begins to awaken spiritually and suddenly realize the obvious.

Ego culture, sadly, causes us to forget real truth and set it aside as unworthy, developing hardened hearts. We all are born spiritually awake and then the fight is on not to fall into a dead sleep on the journey of life.

Hence, my name over at StumbleUpon is warriorkitty! grin. grin. ~ d

Pretty deep thought. But you’re right, truth is something that should already be ours. Excellent work.

    “Bleating in awe”
    Really dig that phrase.
