Spoiling a meal with supplements.

There’s little wonder that I have a supper attitude.
I pop so many pills before I have no room for food.
There’s one to give me energy when I am feeling tired–
I guess in case by some odd chance my warranty’s expired.

Here’s one I take to lower my cholesterol and plaque
And one to ease the aching in my upper leg and back.
Acid reflux keeps me up if I don’t take these two
And this one’s called an upper to keep from feeling blue.

My dog looks at me funny waiting for a table scrap.
There’s still nothing on my plate–a few more pills on tap.
Blood pressure pills I take will often make me laugh.
They’re too strong and I must cut them both in half.

I take so many iron pills I don’t go out when it rains
For fear I’ll rust my insides and aggravate my pains.
I guess I’ll eat a little something although it’s apt to hurt
Then drink a glass of nasty, gritty fiber for dessert.
