A look at the importance of church.
Why miss the Wednesday service? Is it just another day?
Do you think it’s not important what the preacher has to say?
Do you think it’s so irrelevant, or that it doesn’t matter.
It’s more than endless babbling or simply mindless chatter!
Why miss the Wednesday service? Do you really have to work?
Yes, is it that’s calling you, your service thus to shirk?
Why miss the Wednesday service? A more important call?
What could be more important? An order, oh, so tall!
Why miss the Wednesday service? Is there something going on?
Could it really be that vital, to keep you all at home?
If you miss the service, you won’t know whatever the preachers say.
And we really need the message, especially in our day!
Why miss the Wednesday service? Some favorite form of play?
You’re playing at your worship, as you while away your day!
You need the midweek service as the days grow ever short,
And to hear the Bible message, as the preacher does exhort!
Yes, it certainly is important, specially in this final hour.
The fellowship of others; the blessed Spirt’s power.
The message from the Bible in a dark and sinsick world,
As all its ugly forces are daily towards us hurled!
So why miss the midweek service? Will it be this Sunday next?
Do you recall the last one? Can you even cite its text?
And if you miss a service while for guidance you may look,
It may be the very message you are needing from the Book!
He has called us to be faithful in little things and small,
That He may then entrust us with bigger things and tall.
Or perhaps we’re on a mission, His perfect will to seek.
Could be we miss it totally, if we stay at home midweek!
