Why must we always a fire burn?
The presence of rain and cold is there.
Your eyes to the rays of the sunlight turn.
Its sunshine and warmth, your life will share!
Why keep a fire burning bright?
The serpent, the viper is about.
How long can he stand in the Saviour’s Light,
E’er we give a victorious, triumphant shout?
Why must we always a fire keep?
The potential for cold, where there is no heat.
We must, the coals of the Spirit heap,
To guard against the Devil’s defeat.
Don’t be in the wrong, in the cold and rain.
And don’t let the Devil beat down God’s men.
Stand strong through the heat, through the struggle and strain,
And carefully follow the Master’s plan!
Do not twist the Scriptures, some soul to destroy.
Live separate and godly- not conformed to the world.
Preach the fire of God’s Word, and his message employ.
And faithfully keep His banner unfurled!
Now how do you keep a fire lit?
You might have to start one with fresh, kindling wood.
And you might have to go, and the fuel get,
But go start a fire, as you know that you should!
