A poem about my needy cats.

Wiki-Winks

By Tara Provenzano

Cat paws underneath my door,

Meows, scratches, and impatient thumps.

Why are you trying to sleep?

Shouldn’t you be feeding me?

I wanna play!

Day or night, hot or cold,

All through snores, grumbles, and naps.

Loud footsteps down the hall,

Mumbles, grumbles, and clanging noises,

Keep me awake.

When can I sleep?

Cat naps are for the weary,

Impossible for me.

Day and Night slumbering cats.

I heed their needs, morning, noon, and night.

It’s a safe paradise for them,

A hectic loving chore for us.

I secretly google sleep,

Cat eyes watching me,

Knowing and disapproving.

I look down and see a cat paw on the keyboard,

Deleting my poem….

Nice Try Human.
