Tradition says the man is supposed to do the proposing when it comes to marriage. But though traditions are great they are meant to be broken as well.Just playing with a writers imagination here on what might happen if tradition was reveresed. But has to admit it would have been fun to do when I had the chance awhile back.

I invited you over to my apartment for a nice romantic dinner,

a steak, baked potatoes with the works and a salad waited.

Since you don’t drink acholol I put orange juice in the glasses,

I even wore the sexy clinging grey dress you loved so much.

The tall tapered candles gave a romantic glow as we chatted,

many compliments was made about the dinner I had prepared.

To your surprise two root beer floats was our desert after dinner,

but with a blush I tell you the real desert will come a bit later.

A music disc of romantic  songs was found and played very low,

with a low bow you asked me if I would slow dance with you.

So with a soft blush I told you it would be my pleasure to do so,

me and you wound up dancing and kissing through three of them.

You and I headed to my small bedroom to make passionate love,

with skilled practiced hands both our clothes was swiftly removed.

Ecstasy was the controlling factor here in the long dark night hours,

in our sensual arena nothing is taboo as we made love many times.

But sleep would elude us a few hours before the sun was to rise,

we cuddled very close and talked again about a permanent future .

Both of us knowing that we wanted to be wed and together always,

what we didn’t know yet was when the wedding day was to happen.

I kissed you once again and slipped back into a short sheer grey robe,

telling you that I had a special surprise I was saving for this moment.

I put alot of time, thought and energy into what I am about to do here,

With a blush and a shaky smile I ask you to give me an honest answer.

I hand you a small black velvet box with a famous jewelers logo on it,

you open it and to your surprise find a gold band with a diamond in it.

I slowly drop to my knees and ask you if you will be my beloved husband,

I know you are supposed to ask me this but I love you so very much.

I know you wont wear the gold band but I got it as a token of my love,

this bothers me but it doesn’t affect what I feel about you in my heart.

Your dark brown eyes looked at me then back at the small velvet box,

in your dark hand was also a small black velvet box of yous I didn’t see.

You say I have loved you for a long time and gave this careful thought,

its time that our relationship goes to the next step and get married.

Me and you had the same idea of what we both wanted on this night,

will you marry me and make me the happiest man on earth this morning?

No words were needed as a earth shattering YES filled my small bedroom,

your answer to my unexpected proposal was a YES before you kissed me.

A wedding we will plan as soon as we both make passionate love for awhile,

but for now it doesn’t matter as we mess up the sheets celebrating our love.

I think more and more women are doing just that. After reading the poem, I would have said YES.

This is a beautiful proposal. It is interesting for women to actually propose to men.

Interesting twist on your story of proposal. It\’s is nicely written
    with plenty of romantic tones.

That was a real good story, and after going through with this one, I will agree with Guy, I go for Yes!

I think it is become more of a mutual agreement than an asking these days. I’m often surprised wen I hear of young people who have been together for some time say they are surprised when the proposal happens. Nice story here.
